Architectural drawings in relation to two buildings purchased by Offaly County Council in connection with the O'Connor Square/Church Street link are to be ready soon this is with a view to going to the Part 8 public consultation process in June.
At the April meeting of Tullamore Municipal District, Senior Executive Engineer with Offaly County Council, Joe Dooley said two buildings were bought by the council last December.
One is the former Scanlon house on Church Street which will be renovated and used as a remote working hub the other is a house also located on Church Street beside the Methodist church.
Meanwhile, Mr Dooley reported to the meeting that work on the Tanyard Lane is progressing well. He said there had been issues with unforeseen ESB ducts which had to be moved and this delayed the project by 4 days.
Works will continue with the paving of a raised pedestrian crossing at the front entrance to Oisin O'Sullivan's and Robbins.
''It's important to know that access is maintained at all times to the businesses and we will be maintaining vehicle access. People will be able to come up from the Tanyard, they won't be prevented,'' said Mr Dooley.
''The final piece is the junction with the Tanyard, there will be kerbing, a raised table and new footpaths,'' said Mr Dooley. This work is expected to finish Friday, April 25.
