One GAA club in Offaly has been given the go ahead for development works while another has had its plans put on hold by Offaly County Council

Drumcullen GAA Club has been given the go ahead for works at their grounds while St Rynagh's Football Club has to go back to the drawing board as its plans have been put on hold

Drumcullen GAA Club has been given permission for the construction of a new single-storey fitness building and all associated site works to complete the development at its ground in Rath. Planning permission was granted with six conditions attached.

St Rynagh's Football Club had sought permission for a series of works at its ground on the Birr Road in Cloghan including a new pitch but those plans have been put on hold as it was deemed to be an incomplete application.

The club had sought the go ahead from Offaly County Council for an extension of the existing facilities site boundaries to include a powder coated fence to the eastern boundary and a rendered block wall to the western boundary to match existing wall.

It also has plans to extend the 1.2m wide walking track and to install seating and bicycle parking and 15 additional car parking spaces along with two marked coach parking areas to existing parking area.

There would also be a new wild flower area, a new football pitch with ball stop nets, LED flood lighting and all associated site works.
