Glenbarrow waterfall in the Slieve Bloom Mountains
With the fantastic weather we are having recently it been a great opportunity to get some great hikes done.
The Trail Blazers had a very well attended walk last week around the Mass Rock Loop in the Slieve Blooms where the group had fantastic views across the Offaly landscape while watching the sun set.
A perfect night for walking with sunshine all the way around. Well done to everyone that made the effort and thanks to Theresa Watkins for leading.
They have a packed 2025 ahead with several trips overseas and a lot of challenge walks over the coming months. Their walk this Thursday night May 22nd sees the club heading to a walk they haven't done in quite a while, The Glenbarrow Waterfall loop in The Slieve Blooms. Distance 8.5km, Grade Easy/Moderate, Time two hours. Meeting at The Glenbarrow Trail Head at 7.30pm.
Well done to the club members that took part in the latest section of The Barrow Way from Magney Bridge to Milford Bridge, a distance of 16km and done in under four hours and to club members, Gemma Collins, Geraldine Fox, Hugh O'Brien and Gerry Kelly who completed the arduous "Blackstairs Challenge", with over 1,500 mts of ascent, 33km in length and done in a time of 10 hours.
