Woman pleaded guilty at Tullamore District Court
A WOMAN was banned from driving for three years and fined a total of €1,250 by Judge Andrew Cody at Tullamore District Court.
Garda Shane Regan told the court that Danielle Tallon (33), Lower Main Street, Daingean gave him a false name and date of birth when he stopped her at Erry Mill, Clara on January 9 last.
Garda Regan said Ms Tallon, who was driving a 2008 Donegal registered Toyota Avensis at 1.16pm when she was stopped, then came clean and admitted who she was.
He said she had seven previous convictions, including three for motoring offences dating from 2015.
Those convictions were for having no driving licence, NCT, tax and insurance, the garda detailed, saying there were also convictions for drugs offences and an assault from 2018.
Ms Tallon admitted driving without insurance on January 9, as well as giving a false name and date of birth, and having no driving licence.

Garda Regan said she had apologised but had not produced a driving licence.
Defending solicitor Patrick Martin said Ms Tallon was a mother of three who had not been in difficulty for a number of years and had recently started a training course in dog grooming.
Judge Cody imposed a €500 for the insurance offence, another €500 for the false name and date of birth, and a third fine, of €250 for having no licence.
He granted Ms Tallon legal aid.
