TWO Offaly boxers have been selected on the Irish team for the IABA’s inaugural World Boxing event, the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, England September 4th to 14th.

Tullamore's Grainne Walsh (above) and Daingean's Brian Kennedy have both been selected on the 17 strong team.

Olympian Grainne Walsh will compete in the 65kg division. One of the top womens' boxers in Ireland, she is now boxing for St Mary's Boxing Club in Tallaght.

Brian Kennedy will be delighted with his international selection. A member of St Brigid's Boxing Cloub in Edenderry, he will box in the 85kg class.
