Jordan Lynam with John Butler of Galvin
A LUCKY Tullamore man has been selected as an escort in this August's "Rose of Tralee" festival.
Jordan Lynam will be the envy of his friends as he takes part in the international festival which attracts visitors and contestants from all over the world.
Jordan – on the urgings of his mother – applied for the plumb position after returning from Electric Picnic last year.
"I had just finished my Masters and changed roles in my job so thought it would be nice to do something different," Jordan told the Tribune this week.
He heard back from the festival organisers in January and was invited to an interview that month. Luckily the interview process took place in Tullamore and Jordan was informed two days later he had been selected.

The festival starts on August 14 next but Jordan won't know which Rose he will be tasked with escorting until two days before the event.
He knows one of the other escorts, Thomas Mee, who worked in Kepak with him in the past.
Jordan also extended thanks to his sponsors, Kepak and Galvin, Tullamore.
