Having had a look at the weather forecast for the Thursday night walk and the forecast given for a light shower to start, it soon became clear that the forecast was way off.

Thunder showers for the first hour of the walk made for a very unpleasant night's walking. To be fair this did not deter the group from enjoying The Glenafelly Loop. Well done to everyone that made the effort.

The group have a packed few months ahead with several trips within Ireland and lots of challenge walks over the coming months.

Their walk this Thursday night July 24th sees the club heading back to a walk they haven't done for a while - the Kinnitty Castle/Glinsk Castle Loop in the Slieve Blooms, Distance 7km, Grade Easy/Moderate, Time two hours. Meeting at The Kinnitty Castle car park at 7.30pm.

Well done to club members, Natasha Daly, Geraldine Fox, Gemma Collins, Hugh O'Brien, Ronan Malone and Luke Ryan for completing the Beast of Beara, 21k Half Marathon on The Beara Peninsula under difficult conditions.

They would encourage anyone thinking of taking up hiking for better health or as a way to destress to please make contact with the number below.
