The Arts Council will be an exhibitor at the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore September 16th – 18th One of the key objectives is to showcase rural artists and celebrate creative work linked to agriculture, landscape, and community life.

The Arts Council communications team has undertaken preliminary work and will co- ordinate the three days. An important part of this will be showcasing the work of artists who meet the objective above.

On behalf of the Arts Council, Offaly Arts Office is looking for artists to participate in the showcase who fall under the following criteria:
• Are practicing or living in a rural area
• Whose work is linked to agriculture, landscape or community life
• Who are available on one of the days – September 16th, 17th and 18th and can be present in Tullamore for the full day
• Who present an engaging opportunity for those attending the Ploughing which can happen successfully in the space allowed (details will be provided) and accessible and interesting to members of the public.
• Who are happy to interact with members of the public and share their practice

The funding amount will be up to €1500 per day to cover all expenses including transport, subsistence, and preparation. If there is a group applying this can rise to €2000.
If you are interested send a short proposal to arts@offalycoco.ie. The closing date for proposals is August 12.
