Cutting the corn for the annual Blackbull Threshing Festival

The organising committee of the popular Blackbull Threshing Day came out in force recently to make good use of the fine day and to cut the corn for the threshing by kind permission of the Draper family.

Kieran Garahy drove the tractor with Joe Cleary keeping an eye on the sheaves and Fr Tom Hannon working the levers on the binder.

Fr Tom (Birr Pastoral Area) captained Kinnitty in the 1978 Offaly County Final.

The Annual Blackbull threshing takes place on Sunday August 31st.
