'Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel' - Tributes pour in for Tullamore woman who died after a short illness

Elaine's funeral will take place in Mucklagh on Friday at 12pm

Tributes have poured in for Tullamore woman Elaine Healion (nee Halloran) who sadly passed away on Monday after a short illness, bravely borne, surrounded by her loving family.

Elaine, a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, will be deeply missed by her beloved husband Derek, her cherished children Leah, Katie and Emily, her parents John and Imelda, her brother Jason, sister Melissa. She will be dearly missed by her extended family as well as her many colleagues and wonderful friends.

Elaine was a former HSE staff member at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.

Heartfelt tributes have been left for Elaine on RIP.ie with one mourner writing "Elaine was one of the kindest, most thoughtful and fun-loving people you could ever hope to meet. Truly beautiful inside and out, and it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to have known her over the years. Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel".

Another message read "I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Elaine for many years in the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, she was a lady, always a smile on her face and if there was anyway she could help she would go out of her way to do so both with patients and work colleagues".

"Elaine was one of the kindest souls, if it was in her power to help, she helped with no expectation of thanks. A testament to her parents and a gift I am sure she has passed onto her girls" another person said.

Another wrote, "Elaine was so kind, sincere and hardworking. She had time for everybody no matter how busy she was and always with a smile. May her gentle and kind soul rest in heavenly peace."

Elaine will repose at her home in Spollanstown (R35 PK80) on Thursday, August 14 from 2pm until rosary at 8pm. The house is strictly private except for these times .

Her requiem mass will be celebrated in Saint Colman's church, Mucklagh (R35 V045) on Friday, August 15 at 12pm. Following the mass, she will be laid to rest in the adjoining graveyard.
