EACH year Rahan Comhaltas hold their annual summer session, a show filled with traditional Irish music, dance, story’s and local talent.

It’s a delightful show fuelled by Comhaltas and local volunteers. With the entry fee each year the money usually goes back into Comhaltas to raise funds for rent to hold music classes, instruments for people to rent etc but this year the branch committee decided that the money raised would go towards a much more worthy and heartfelt cause especially to those all across Ireland.

It was decided that the money raised would go towards helping those victim to the genocide in Gaza.

As the root of this genocide has lead to people being pushed out of their land it’s evidently a situation which Irish people feel is close to home based on our historical past.

The show spanned over seven weeks and raised a total of €5,000 and €5,500 after Rahan hall gracefully wavered their revenue rental fee.

This money went towards “mobile maternity clinics”. Palestine aid renovated a regular bus into a maternity clinic which once ready would go directly into the Gaza Strip to help Palestinians.

Rahan Comhaltas would like to extend thanks to all whom played music, volunteered or where in the audience at the summer sessions.

They hope this money will make a difference to those in need and the Rahan Comhaltas branch will continue to support this cause as much as they can.
