Roscrea Lions Club in association with North Tipperary Hospice held a very special sale event at Central Auctions in Roscrea Mart.
A “An De Beauffaux” sired heifer weanling, kindly donated by Nicholas Bergin was sold at auction, the proceeds of which contributed to the ongoing 'Lets Rear a Calf For Hospice' project.
The 'Let’s Rear a Calf for Hospice' initiative involves local farmers rearing a calf alongside their own herd and once this calf reaches a certain age or standard, it is sold. The proceeds of this sale benefit both the Lions Community and North Tipperary Hospice to continue their vital work.
This venture stands as a testament to the enduring generosity and community spirit that have been hallmarks of the farming community in our locality for generations.
North Tipperary Hospice offers a wide range of therapies and programs designed to support and uplift those affected by cancer. Their mission is to ensure that no one faces their journey alone. Support services are currently available in Thurles and Nenagh, with a new centre coming soon to Roscrea.
These centres provide practical and emotional support, all completely free of charge , offering a helping hand to individuals and families when they need it most.
