A woman in her 60s was killed in a fatal accident in Kildare when her motorcycle was involved in a collision with a truck.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision near Kilcock, Co. Kildare today, Monday, September 8.

The collision involving a motorcycle and a truck occurred on the R148 at Killickaweeny shortly before midday.

The woman was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. Her body is being transferred to the morgue in Naas where a post-mortem examination will be arranged. No other injuries were reported.

The road between Kilcock and Enfield is closed and is expected to remain so until tomorrow pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place. Motorists travelling westbound towards Enfield are advised to continue on the M4 motorway and take the Junction 9 (Enfield) exit.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 11:30am and 12:30pm on Monday 8th September 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
