Barry Mooney was a dominant winner of the club 5,000m race on Tuesday last (the 23rd of September), completing the 8 laps of the track without opposition from the whistle. He crossed the line in an excellent 16:57, earning maximum points for his team in the ongoing league.
Jody O’Reilly was 2nd place in 19:10, with Shane McGuinness close behind in 19:13 to take 3rd.
A total of 28 athletes lined out on what was a beautiful evening for running. Well done to all who supported their teams.

Rathfarnham 5k
The club was well represented at the popular Rathfarnham 5K on Sunday morning, September 28th, with four Harriers taking to the line. This race, which has been held annually since 1998 on the streets of Rathfarnham and Terenure, once again attracted a big turnout, with over 1,200 finishers.1st across the line was Efrem Gidey, Clonliffe Harriers in 13.49.

Kevin Minnock was 1st Tullamore man in 63rd place in a superb 15.11 followed with an excellent run by Barry Mooney in 15.54. Darragh Carroll was next in 18.16 and our only lady competing was Ruby Stuven who finished 26th female in a very impressive 18.22
Knutsford 10K
On Sunday, 28th September, three of our club members made the trip to Manchester, UK, to compete in the Knutsford 10K.
Representing Tullamore Harriers were Mick O’Brien, Darren Butler, and John Donegan. They were joined by Mick’s brother Podge O’Brien (Birr A.C.), and John’s son Jay Donegan who is residing in Manchester and runs with Sale Harriers, Manchester
In a field of over 2,400 athletes, runners lined up in near-perfect conditions for what proved to be a fantastic day of racing.
The race was won by John Mellor, who clocked 29:26.
Mick O’Brien produced an outstanding run, crossing the line in 33:58, securing the prize for 1st Over-50. Close behind, Jay Donegan ran strongly to finish in 34:27, while Podge O’Brien followed in 35:15. Darren Butler continued the fine showing from Tullamore Harriers, posting a solid 38:07, with John Donegan completing the father and son effort in 43:53.
