A motorist was convicted for drug driving during a recent sitting of Tullamore District Court.

Before the court was Thomas Jackman, 8 Ard na Greine, Tullow, Carlow and he was stopped by Garda Patrick McGee in Charleville, Tullamore on December 5, 2024.

The court was told that a blood reading showed that Mr Jackman was six times over the drug driving limit.

The defending solicitor Patrick Martin told the court that the loss of his client's driving licence as a result of this offence “will have a big impact on him and his family.”

Judge Andrew Cody convicted and fined €400 and disqualified from driving for one year.
