CRCC receiving the cup from Pat Teehan
CRCC (Carrig-Riverstown, Coolderry, Crinkle) defeated Kinnitty/Lusmagh in an entertaining U16 B Hurling Final played in Grant Heating St Brendan’s Pk on Saturday last. The side were level on a number of occasions in the first half, after which they went in all square 0-7 each, with both goalkeepers having pulled off some fine saves.
The game appeared to turn in Kinnitty/Lusmagh’s favour in the 49th minute when Tiernan Fay crashed an unstoppable shot to the CRCC net to leave his side 1-10 to 0-10 in front. However, inside 30 seconds CRCC had the ball in the net at the other end courtesy of Declan O’Meara. This response ignited CRCC and they outscored their opponents with 5 unanswered points in the concluding minutes, to give them a deserved five point victory.
Scorers:
CRCC Harry O’Sullivan 0-11 (0-9f, 0-1 65’), Declan O’Meara 1-1, Lorcan Moloney 0-2, Hugo Baskakovas 0-1
Kinnitty/Lusmagh: Tiernan Fay 1-6 (0-5f), Daniel Corboy, James Boland, Liam Boland, Ronan Molloy 0-1 each.
