The planning application outlines the proposal of extensive works on the site
Planning permission has been sought to Offaly County Council for the development of a former RIC Barracks located on the main street in Killeigh.
The proposed works on the property, which is a protected structure, will consist of the refurbishment of the dwelling including the re-slating of the roof with repairs to the roof timbers and chimneys along with the replacement of rainwater goods.
New windows, repairs to lime render including the removal of sand and cement render as well as stitch repairs to cracks in the structure and a refurbishment of the existing rear extension with a new roof are also proposed in the planning application.

The plans also state the potential demolition of the concrete out-house removing all vegetation and non-original fixtures and fittings whilst replacing rotten and damaged timbers.
There will also be treatment of all timbers for fungal and insect infestation to coincide with the addition of insulation to the attic floor and a new attic hatch.
The proposed extension will contain new bathrooms, a utility room, new en-suite and wardrobe in the master bedroom and a new kitchen which will be assisted by new joinery, plumbing and electrics throughout the property.
The planning application may be inspected or purchased at a fee with any submission or observation of the documents to be made to the planning authority on payment of the prescribed fee.
This must be carried out within the period of five weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the application at Offaly County Council.
