Offaly woman appointed student ambassador at Maynooth University

FOLLOWING a university-wide recruitment process, Louise Molloy has been appointed Student Ambassador in St Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth (SPPU).

Louise is a former student of Killina Presentation Secondary School, Offaly.

Ambassadors are a vital link for incoming students, assisting with orientation activities, providing campus tours and being on hand with advice and recommendations on how best to transition from second level into life at university.

The Student Ambassadors will also assist at university events throughout the year passing on their firsthand experiences of life at St Patrick’s Pontifical University.

On studying at SPPU, Louise Molloy said: “Studying at St Patrick's Pontifical University has been nothing short of amazing. From my very first day I felt right at home, the small class sizes allowed me to make lifelong friendships.

"There's a real sense of community here, everyone knows each other and then the lecturers take genuine interest in how you're doing academically and in your overall growth. Studying both theology and history has deepened my understanding of both subjects and gives me a real appreciation for how they connect.

"You feel a real sense of warmth on campus especially in Pugin Hall where you meet and catch up with both lecturers and friends.”

St Patrick’s Pontifical University is located in Maynooth. The town and campus are extensions of each other. Students enjoy the benefits of having all the amenities they need close at hand without the busyness of a large city, while still being very accessible to Dublin which is only 30 minutes away and served by excellent rail and road links.
