Connie taking part in another athletics event in Daingean
There was a significant milestone at Mountlucas parkrun this weekend as Connie Leech, a regular participant, completed her 50th parkrun. Connie has been taking part at Mountlucas parkrun since 2018, and has completed all 50 of her parkruns at Mountlucas parkrun.
Speaking to Connie after the event, she said: “Every Saturday at Mountlucas, I’m reminded that the best things in life really are free — fresh air, friendly faces, and the feeling of moving forward together. I show up for the run, but I stay for the community. Every stride reminds me that progress costs nothing, support is everywhere, and the healthiest version of me is always waiting just beyond the next kilometre.”
Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp. There's something for everyone at Mountlucas parkrun whether you want to walk, run, volunteer or just meet new people. Parkrun isn’t just a timed run: it’s about community, inclusivity, and wellbeing. Every event at Mountlucas brings together people of all ages and abilities, creating a warm, encouraging atmosphere. Whether you’re walking your first 5 km or picking up your 50th, Mountlucas parkrun offers something for everyone.
