Santa Claus will switch the lights on in Tullamore
PEOPLE have been urged to "eat, drink and celebrate" locally this Christmas by Cllr Sean O'Brien.
Speaking at last week's meeting of Tullamore Municipal District, Cllr O'Brien said the council should put out the message enouraging peopel to support local business and keep them going.
Meanwhile the work of the Christmas Lights and Christmas Market committee in Tullamore was acknowledged by Monica Cleary, Senior Executive Officer.
She said that this year the council will reduce parking fees in the town centre from December 1 onwards, similar to previous years.
"The Christmas market and Santa Claus coming to switch on the lights is a big day in town," noted MD Cathaoirleach, Cllr Declan Harvey.
