Roscrea's much-loved Taste of Christmas Food and Craft Market is set to return once again to the historic Black Mills, marking its 13th successful year of bringing festive cheer, community spirit, and valuable economic benefits to the heritage town.
Organised in partnership with Tipperary County Council, Roscrea Chamber of Commerce, and the North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC), this annual event has become one of the region’s most anticipated Christmas traditions.
This year’s Taste of Christmas 2025 market promises to be bigger and brighter than ever.
With a surge in demand from local makers, bakers, and artisans, stall spaces were snapped up quickly—highlighting the strong appetite for supporting homegrown businesses and handcrafted products.
From bespoke gifts to seasonal treats, visitors will have no shortage of unique items to choose from as they begin their festive shopping.
The Black Mills, with its striking stone architecture and rich heritage, provides a magical backdrop for the celebrations.
Twinkling lights, decorated stalls, and the gentle harmonies of carol singing will transform the venue into a Christmas wonderland.
Local choirs and community groups will perform throughout the day, adding warmth and festive charm to the bustling market atmosphere. Families can look forward to a memorable experience, with a wide range of children’s entertainment on offer.
Little ones will enjoy festive games and creative activities designed to spark their imagination. One of the event’s star attractions—Santa’s Train—returns once more, delighting young passengers as it winds its cheerful route around the grounds.
The highlight of the day, of course, will be the arrival of Santa Claus himself, ready to greet families and spread seasonal joy.

Beyond the fun and festivities, the market brings significant economic benefits to Roscrea. Local businesses consistently report increased footfall, while stallholders value the opportunity to showcase their products to both residents and visitors.

The event also strengthens community ties, bringing together volunteers, performers, and organisations working collectively to support the town’s development.
Leas Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Eddie Moran, who attended the launch, was full of praise for the organising committee as they put the final touches to the upcoming festival.
“As Roscrea continues to shine as a welcoming destination during the holiday season, the Taste of Christmas 2025 Food and Craft Market remains a standout celebration of creativity, tradition, and local pride.
“With its vibrant atmosphere and strong community spirit, it once again promises a magical start to Christmas in the heart of the town,” Cllr. Moran said.
Local councillor and Chairperson of the organising committee, Michael Smith, also commended the efforts of the volunteers who have tirelessly given their time to ensure the event's success.
