BnM is seeking applications from local community organisations in the vicinity of the Derrinlough Wind Farm in County Offaly to the inaugural Derrinlough Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund.
The Fund will distribute funding to community, voluntary and non-profit groups, clubs and societies, or organisations with charitable status, which aim to deliver community good in the vicinity of the wind farm.
This funding forms part of BnM’s broader commitment to ensuring that the delivery of renewable energy infrastructure creates lasting value for the communities in which it operates. Community investment is a central pillar of BnM’s 5GW renewable energy pipeline, which is directly supporting Ireland’s National Development Plan.
47 local community projects received funding of €118,000 through BnM’s Derrinlough Wind Farm Construction Community Benefit Fund in 2024. Recipients included Scoil Náisiúnta Naomh Eoin in Rath, St Rynagh's Hurling Club in Banagher, St Mary's Hall in Cloghan, Fivealley Development Group, and Eglish Drumcullen Development Committee.
Nationally, this year BnM has invested €1.4 million through its renewable energy community funds, supporting a range of initiatives including near neighbour schemes, education projects, and local enterprise.

Our renewable infrastructure projects are delivering clean, secure energy to the national grid while creating long-term value for the regions in which we operate. The Derrinlough Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund and Near Neighbour Schemes reflect this approach, ensuring that investment in renewable infrastructure also delivers tangible benefits and opportunities for local communities, while supporting Ireland’s wider economic and environmental goals.”
