Offaly star among the nominees for RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year
The RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year 2025 Award will be presented this weekend and an Offaly star is among the nominees. On Saturday 20 December live on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at 8.05pm, Joanne Cantwell, Darragh Maloney and David Gillick will present the RTÉ Sport Awards 2025 from Studio 4 in RTÉ. Awards being handed out on the night include RTÉ Sport Sportsperson of the Year, RTÉ Sport Team of the Year, RTÉ Sport Manager of the Year and RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year. This year's nominees for the RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson are listed below.
The first nominee for RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year is Offaly's Alex Dunne, who became the first Irish driver to win an F2 race, winning in Bahrain and Italy. He also impressed while driving the World Championship winning McLaren car during F1 testing.
