Tullamore Hospital chapel closed temporarily
The chapel in Tullamore Hospital has been closed temporarily for refurbishment work.
The chapel will not reopen for about two-and-a-half months, according to a message in last Sunday's Tullamore Parish bulletin.
Parishioners were told in the bulletin: “The Hospital Chapel holds a special place in the life of our hospital, offering a quiet space of worship, prayer, and reflection for patients, families, visitors, and staff. In order to care for this sacred space and ensure it remains a place of dignity and prayer, the Chapel will close temporarily from tomorrow, Monday 12th, to allow for essential renovation works, including window replacement and internal refurbishment.
“It is hoped that the Chapel will reopen on or around April 1, with confirmation provided closer to the completion of the works. We are grateful for your understanding and patience during this time and look forward to welcoming all back to the Chapel once the work is complete.”
The chapel is part of what is locally known as the 'old hospital' but is conveniently located adjacent to the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore campus.
