OPEN DAY: National school on Offaly border to host open day

Horseleap National School to host open day this Saturday

HORSELEAP

Horseleap National School, will host an open day and coffee morning on Saturday, March 21, for prospective parents of children beginning primary school, as well as families exploring other primary education options.

Parents and children are invited to visit the school, meet staff and parents, and experience the welcoming atmosphere that is central to school life.

Deputy Principal Angelina Carey teaches the junior classroom (Junior Infants to Second Class), while Principal Áine Groarke leads the senior classroom (Third to Sixth Class).

The school is supported by Special Needs Assistant Therese O’Neill, teacher Críona Reid and Special Education Teacher Olive Robinson.

Horseleap National School offers a broad curriculum alongside strong sporting, creative and environmental programmes.

The school is part of the Digital Schools of Distinction initiative and has earned six Green Flags through the Green Schools programme.

Recent activities have included STEM projects with Athlone Education Centre, a BLAST filmmaking project, weekly swimming lessons in Clara and GAA coaching with Alan Mullen.

Depending on numbers and availability, an after-school collection service may be available through Child’s Play in Kilbeggan.

The childcare provider operates two excellent facilities, catering for children of all ages and developmental stages.
