Niall Stobie celebrates his 150th parkrun
IT was a cold, windy, dry and bright morning at the weekend for Mountlucas parkrun. More than 60 walkers, joggers and runners completed the 5km looped course.
There was a double celebration on the day. Niall Stobie completed his 150th parkrun while Mary Dunne completed her 250th parkrun.
Niall was joined by his wife Orla and many friends and supporters cheered him across the line, including fellow members of Edenderry Athletics Club. Mary Dunne was joined by her sister Mairéad and son Cathal, as well as lots of friends, who applauded her over the finish line.
Mary had made her signature lemon drizzle cake to share with other attendees, and it was enjoyed by all.
The wind on the day made the course a little more challenging but two attendees still managed to achieve a new "personal best" (PB)- Ryan Travers and Sinéad Wearen. Well done everyone.
