A huge congratulations to Alisha Maher on receiving an Athletics Ireland Juvenile All Star Award for Offaly, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in Irish athletics during 2025.
The Juvenile All Star Awards is a wonderful annual celebration of Ireland’s top young athletes, highlighting the next generation of stars and their success throughout the season.
Alisha was selected by the Juvenile Committee of Athletics Ireland, and the award ceremony was at the Mullingar Park Hotel on April 18th
Well done, Alisha - a tremendous achievement.

Wins for Kevin and Niamh in Rhode
On what was a beautiful Spring morning, providing ideal running conditions, 380 runners lined out for the Rhode 5K on Sunday last, April 19th. Hosted by Rhode Athletic Club this was Round 3 of the 2026 Healthy Offaly Series, leaving just five races remaining.
The race took place on a generally flat course, with only two canal bridges to climb and Tullamore Harriers had 32 runners on the line.
First man home was Kevin Minnock in 15:36, chased down by Mullingar Harriers athlete Mark Darby in 15:53, and Mick Fogarty of Ferbane AC third in 15:59.
For the women, it was Tullamore Harriers once again on the podium with Niamh Garvey 1st in 18:02. Second place went to Sophie Moroney of Emerald AC in 18:20, while third was Orlaith Flanagan of Mullingar Harriers in 18:52.
Sarah Flanagan, fourth lady overall, claimed the O45 age group prize, while Mary Galvin won the O60 category.
In the team standings, Tullamore Harriers took honours in both the men’s and women’s categories with 1st place in both.

Westport 10K
Well done to Naomi Galvin, who competed in the Westport 10K on Saturday the 18th of April.
After tackling the hills of Phoenix Park at the National 10K, six days previously, Naomi faced an even more challenging and hillier course in the beautiful Westport in an event which featured a marathon, half marathon and 10K
A fantastic effort once again finishing in a time of 57:31.
Juvenile Membership
Tullamore Harriers it is not accepting new juvenile members of primary school age at present. However, boys and girls of post-primary school age are welcome to apply for membership.
