Offaly publican and sports club named on Revenue's tax defaulter's list

An Offaly publican and a sports club in the county have been named in Revenue's latest tax defaulters list.

Publican James Dempsey, Cadamstown, Birr accepted a settlement amount of €59,704.36. The was the result of a Revenue Audit Cast and under-declaration of VAT. The amount was made up of €28,542 in unpaid tax, €22.599.76 in interest and €8,562.60 in penalties. 

Also on the list was the Irish Parachute Club Limited based in Clonbullogue. The total settlement amount was €113,446.47. It was for the under-declaration of PAYE, PRSI and USC. The amount was made up of €65,134.15 in unpaid tax, €28,772.07 in interest and €19,540.25 in fines. 

A total of 23 cases were published today by Revenue and €2.8 million was the total settlement amount in these cases. Eight of the cases were for amounts exceeding €100,000 and exceeded €500,000. 

That settlement was for €502,824.60 and was with Christophe Osborne, a jewellery designer based in Sword in Dublin.
