Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a suspected fatal hit and run incident near Clonmore village in North Tipperary.
A male pedestrian aged in his 60s was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle near the rural village near Roscrea and Templemore in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Gardaí arrested a man last night. It is believed the driver fled the scene after striking the pedestrian.
The man who was arrested is aged in his early 20s and is currently being detained at Thurles Garda station.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
Any road users who were travelling in the area on Monday morning, November, 21 between 1am and 1.20am and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
