Denis Magner inducted into Tullamore Rugby Club Hall of Fame

A long time activist in Tullamore Rugby Club was inducted into their all of fame on Saturday.

There was a large turnout of members, family and friends to acknowledge the vast work that Durrow resident Denis Magner has done for the club over the years.

A native of Cork, Dinny has been instrumental in the development of youths rugby for decades in Tullamore. A retired Tullamore College teacher, he has coached Tullamore teams from U-10s upwards.

He was the Midlands representative on the Leinster Branch Youth Section for many years. Denis was also a rugby coach in Tullamore college while teaching there. The school teams won both the Junio & Senior Development Cups.

The senior team played in the Leinster Schools cup. The school was a great feeder for young rugby players to the Tullamore rugby club.

All four of Denis and Eileen’s children played rugby for Tullamore.
