There was great excitement in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore on Monday, December 19 as the Win a House Draw fundraiser for Killeigh Community Centre Development Association came to a conclusion.

As widely advertised the prize was a fabulous 3-bed house in Royal Oaks in Enfield or an alternative cash prize of €300,000. On the night, the draw was open to the public and was also live-streamed on the Win a House in Meath & Killeigh Community Centre Facebook pages.

MC for the night was Ronan Berry, Midlands Radio Three and the draw was independently supervised by Anne Hill and Denise Larkin, Auditors from BDM Finance & Accounting Ltd. Also in attendance was Superintendent Garda David Nolan and solicitor Dermot Murphy, Brian Adams & Co Sols.

Committee members John Hinch and Una McCafferkey were responsible for spinning the drum and pulling the winning ticket. While the ticket was being verified, Ger Cleary, Treasurer of the group did a short interview with Ronan on the development of the hall and the future plans for the Community Centre.

Finally, once the Independent adjudicators verified the winning ticket, the winner was announced. The lucky person was Paula Atkinson from Enniscorthy in Co. Wexford. Maria Bannon, Chairperson of Killeigh Community Centre has now made contact with Paula, who was stunned and delighted with this life-changing win!

The committee would like to thank all who supported the draw and while there can only be one winner of the house, the community of Killeigh will benefit from the development of the community centre for many years to come.
