A 47-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of another man in Renfrewshire.
Officers were called to the scene after they received reports of a man found injured in a common close in Renfield Street, Renfrew, at around 3am on Monday.
Emergency services attended but the man, named as Alastair Campbell, 52, died shortly afterwards.
Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie, from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with Alastair’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“We’ll continue to support them throughout our inquiries.”
A 35-year-old man was earlier arrested in connection with Mr Campbell’s death but was released.
The 47-year-old man will appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday.
