A 50-year-old man has died after being in involved in a three-vehicle crash.
The man’s Ford Transit flat bed van was involved in the collision with a red HGV and a black Mini Cooper.
The incident took place at around 11.30am on Thursday on the A725, Shawhead flyover at its junction with the A8 eastbound slip road, near Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.
The 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said occupants of the other vehicles were checked on at the scene.
The road was closed for around five-and-a-half hours while investigations took place.
Traffic Scotland has confirmed the road has now reopened in both directions.

Sergeant Ross Allison, of Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.
“Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also appeal for anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash-cam footage that could assist to contact us.”
