Motorcyclist treated for serious injuries following Grantown-on-Spey collision

A motorcyclist is being treated in hospital with “serious injuries” following a collision in the Highlands.

Police are probing the incident which took place on the A939 near Grantown-on-Spey at around 4.05pm on Saturday.

It is understood a red Vauxhall Corsa and a red and black Ducati Multistrada motorbike collided at the Grantown-on-Spey to Nairn road at the A940 junction at Loch Allan.

The 49-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital and later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment for “serious injuries”.

The male driver of the car did not require hospital treatment, police have said.

The road was closed while investigations took place and re-opened at about 10.15pm.

Sergeant David Miller said: “Our inquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who has any information which could assist to contact us.

“I would particularly appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the crash and has not already spoken to officers or who has dash cam footage which may assist to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2525 of July 27, 2024.
