An 18-year-old man has died after being hit by a lorry on the motorway.
Police were called to reports of a man walking along the M74 near Hamilton at around 3.10am on Saturday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old man has died after he was involved in a collision also involving an HGV on the M74 in Lanarkshire.
The incident happened near to Junction Six for Hamilton on the southbound motorway.

Sergeant John Houston said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the 18-year-old man, as well as everyone else affected by this tragic incident.
“We working to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.
“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man walking on the M74 between junctions six and seven, as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.
“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 0512 of 3 August.”
The road was closed for investigations before reopening at 1pm on Saturday.
