Motorcyclist in ‘critical’ condition after collision with car

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after his bike collided with a car in the Highlands.

The 53-year-old male was riding an orange KTM motorbike when it crashed into a grey BMW on the A87 at Bunloyne Junction by Invermoriston at around 10.30am on Saturday, August 10.

The motorcyclist was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where police said staff have described his condition as critical.

The 29-year-old male driver of the BMW was arrested and charged with a road traffic offence.

He has been released pending further inquiries.

Sergeant David Miller of the Dingwall Road Policing Unit said: “Our inquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened or who saw either vehicle on the road prior to the crash to get in touch.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 1130 of 10 August.
