Appeal for information after three cars deliberately set on fire

Police are appealing for information after three vehicles they say were intentionally set alight.

On Sunday at around 9pm, a silver Volkswagen Sharan and a black Kia Sportage were set on fire on Glasgow road, Clydebank.

Later that night at around 10.25pm, a white Renault van was also set on fire on John Knox Street, also in Clydebank.

No casualties were reported, though police are treating the the fires as wilful, and inquiries are ongoing to establish if the incidents are linked.

Detective Constable Jemma Green said: “Our inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything to contact us.

“We are also appealing to anyone driving in the areas at the time who may have dashcam footage to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3529 of August 18 for Glasgow Road, and 3888 of August 18 for John Knox Road.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
