Appeal to trace driver after crash leaves two men seriously injured

Police in Scotland have launched an appeal to trace a driver who left the scene after a four-car crash which left two men seriously injured.

On Friday at around 6pm, police responded to reports of the crash on the B817 Shore Road, between Alness and Invergordon, and one driver left the scene before the force arrived.

The incident involved a red Ford Fiesta, a white Ford Kuga, a white Hyundai and a silver Dacia Duster.

The 49-year-old male driver of the Fiesta was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and was later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where medical staff have described his condition as serious.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 34-year-old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Kuga left the scene and inquiries are ongoing to trace them.

The road was closed for around 11 hours to allow for collision investigation to take place.

Police have now launched an appeal to trace the Kuga driver and have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Sergeant David Miller, of Police Scotland, said: “Our inquiries into this crash are ongoing and we are urging the driver of the Ford Kuga to contact us.

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to us to please get in touch.

“We would also like to review any dashcam footage taken around the time of the crash.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 3238 of 23 August.
