A 44-year-old man has been arrested following the death of a “much loved” 36-year-old man in Aberdeenshire.
At around 8.35pm on Wednesday, police were called to a property on Gordon Place, Ellon, where Martin Forgie was found dead.
His family were made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
Mr Forgie, from Maud, was remembered by his family in a statement released through Police Scotland.
They said: “Martin was a much loved son, brother, father, nephew, grandson and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
“We ask for our privacy as a family to be respected at this difficult time.”
The 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death.
Inquiries are ongoing.
Detective inspector Rory Campbell, of Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Forgie’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“Officers will remain in the area while inquiries are carried out.
