Police have launched an online portal for members of the public to assist with an investigation into a woodland assault that left a woman seriously injured.
The 26-year-old was attacked on a path near the golf club on Abbey Road, Dalkeith, Midlothian, between 5.30pm and 6pm on Friday October 4.
Police previously said she was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 32-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident was later released pending further inquiries.
Police say an extensive investigation continues, with a significant number of officers remaining in the area.
Relevant information, pictures or video footage can be submitted to detectives through the online portal, which can be accessed at: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/SCOT24S09-PO1.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicky McGovern said: “We’d like to thank the local community for their continued assistance with our investigation, as we continue to appeal for information as part of our extensive inquiries into this attack.
“We are continuing to assess a significant amount of information and have a dedicated team of officers carrying out local and CCTV inquiries at this time.
“Anyone who has yet to speak to police, and has information which may assist our investigation, is asked to contact us.”
Inspector David Rourke, deputy local area commander, added: “I’d like to reassure the public that we have increased high visibility patrols in the area and these will continue over the coming days as inquiries progress.
“Anyone with information or concerns can speak to these officers.”
Police can also be contacted on 101, quoting reference number 3107 of October 4, or information can be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
