Man killed in collision involving three cars and bus in Airdrie named

A man who died after a crash in Airdrie town centre has been named as Francis Hooper.

Mr Hooper, 58, was driving his car when it was in collision with a bus and two other cars in Stirling Street at around 3.25pm on Friday.

He was taken to hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Road Policing Sergeant Nick Twigg renewed an appeal for information about the incident.

“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Hooper,” he said.

“Inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and anyone who has not already spoken to officers is asked to contact us via 101, quoting incident number 2154 of Friday 11 October 2024.”
