Man, 59, dies after crash in Glasgow

A 59-year-old man has died after a crash in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the incident in the Carntyne Road area at about 12.35pm on Wednesday.

The driver of a green Vauxhall Insignia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said his family have been informed.

No one else was injured.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.

“We would like to thank the members of the public who stopped to help before emergency services arrived. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in this area around that time and who may have dashcam footage which could assist us to contact us.”
