Heartbroken family pay tribute to ‘beloved’ man who died after rural road crash

A 25-year-old man who died following a crash on a rural road in Argyll and Bute has been named.

Jamie Green was a passenger in a red BMW which crashed into two buildings on the B842 at Knocknaha near Stewarton, by Campbeltown, on Monday at around 4pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old driver was taken to hospital for treatment.

In a statement issued through Police Scotland, Mr Green’s family paid tribute to him.

It reads: “Jamie was our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who was taken from us so tragically. Our hearts are truly broken.

“Jamie had the kindest heart and lived his short life to the fullest.

“He will be missed by so many.

“We have been overwhelmed by the support shown and the many kind words that have been shared by those who knew Jamie.”

Sergeant Archie McGuire, of Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Green at this difficult time.

“Our inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1982 of 6 January, 2025.”
