A man is due in court after two women were allegedly assaulted before a flat was set on fire.
The 34-year-old man was charged in connection with an incident on Mill Road, Cambuslang, on Thursday, when police were called to a report of two females, aged 16 and 41, having allegedly been attacked in a property just after 4pm.
They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and later released. A man was also taken to the same hospital after the flat was set on fire.
The man arrested and charged in connection with the incident is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective Inspector Gary Smillie said: “I would again like to extend my thanks to nearby residents who were impacted by this incident for their patience and co-operation and the other emergency services for their support.”
