Man in critical condition after crash

A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in Ayrshire on Friday.

The crash happened on the B743 just south of Mauchline at about 6.45am and involved a blue Ford Focus car.

Police said the man suffered life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where his condition is described as critical.

Sergeant Chris McColm of Road Policing said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone who can assist.

“If you were in the area around the time of the crash please check your dashcam to see if you have captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0577 of Friday January 24.
