A man has been charged after a 31-year-old woman died in the Scottish Borders.
The woman was pronounced dead inside a property in Chirnside, near Duns, on Sunday, after police were called at around 4.35am to reports that she had been seriously injured.
Emergency services were sent to the property in Windram Road but she could not be saved.

Police said a 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death and will appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court in due course.
Police are carrying out additional patrols in the area.
Detective Inspector Laura White said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this very difficult time. Specialist officers are providing support to her family as our investigation continues.”
Chief Inspector Stuart Fletcher said: “We understand this incident will cause concern within the local community and I want to reassure residents that there will be an ongoing police presence in the area.
“Additional patrols are being carried out and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to officers.”
