Four charged after hundreds of cannabis plants found at Aberdeenshire property

Four men have been charged after police discovered hundreds of cannabis plants at a property in Aberdeenshire.

Officers raided the address in Tradlin Circle, Blackburn, at about 12.45pm on Tuesday following reports of possible cannabis cultivation at the property.

Inside they found an “extensive” cultivation with some 278 plants, and altogether seized drugs worth an estimated £200,000.

Four men, aged 42, 34, 30 and 27, were arrested and charged, and will appear in court in due course.

Sergeant Mark Adam said: “I would like to pass on my thanks to the community as this enforcement action was only possible due to information provided by members of the public.

“Serious and organised crime remains a priority, and we are committed to detecting and disrupting criminal activity.

“We rely on the public to provide us with information to help us to do so.”

Police Scotland have called on anybody who suspects illegal activity to call them on 101, or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
