A police dog was left needing medical treatment after being injured during an incident in Aberdeen.
Police said they were alerted to reports of a man in possession of a knife in the Seaforth Road area of the city at about 4.50pm on Friday.
Officers, including the dog unit, attended and one police dog was injured.
The animal had to be taken to the vet for treatment.
A 27-year-old man was arrested and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Seaforth Road is currently closed at the junction with Park Road and people are being asked to avoid the area.
Police said officers will remain in the area while inquiries continue and anyone with any concerns or information is asked to approach them.
