Family in tribute to ‘much-missed grandad’ killed in motorcycle crash

Tributes have been paid to a 61-year-old motorcyclist who died in a collision with a car.

The crash involving a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Ian Harrower and a Peugeot 306 happened on the A90 Queensferry Road in Edinburgh at around 11.15pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended but Mr Harrower, from Rosyth in Fife, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland have said the 31-year-old man they say was driving the car has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged road traffic offences.

A spokesperson said inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

In a statement released through Police Scotland, Mr Harrower’s family said: “Ian was a much-loved son to Elizabeth, brother to Elaine and dad to Lewis, Kim and Owen.

“He was a loving husband to Norah and stepdad to Gavin and will be a very much-missed grandad to Brooke and Taylor.

“He was a true and loyal friend to many and will always be in our hearts, never to be forgotten.”

Sergeant Paul Ewing said: “We would like to thank the public for their assistance with our investigation and our thoughts remain with the family of Mr Harrower.

“Anyone with any further information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 4274 of April 8.”
