A teenage boy has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing at a popular beach.
The 16-year-old was arrested following a disturbance in Portobello, Edinburgh, on Friday evening.
Emergency services attended and another teenager, aged 17, was found injured and taken to hospital for medical treatment.
The 16-year-old appeared in Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday charged with attempted murder and having a bladed item in a public place.
He did not submit a plea and was granted bail.
The date of his next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.
